Corte Franca

Corte Franca is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 7135 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy. The community is located about 21 kilometers northwest of Brescia, approximately 25 kilometers east-southeast of Bergamo and about 3.5 kilometers south of Lake Iseo and Franciacorta. The administrative headquarters is located in the district Timoline.

History

The municipality was formed in 1929 from the individual communities Borgonato, Colombaro Nigoline Bonomelli and Timoline. Corte Franca is located in a city partnership to the Scottish village of Aberdour since July 2004.

Traffic

The community has two railway stations. The breakpoint in the district Borgonato also serves the community Adro as siding, the railway station of Timoline is located in the neighboring municipality Provaglio Iseo each on the railway line Cremona Iseo.
