Cortino

Cortino is a municipality with 652 inhabitants and is located near Rocca Santa Maria and Torricella Sicura in the province of Teramo. A part of the territory of the municipality lies within the boundaries of the National Park of Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga and is a member of the Comunità Montana della Laga.

Geography

Among the districts ( fractions) are Agnova, Altovia, Caiano, Casagreca, Casanova, Collegilesco, Comignano, Cunetta, Elce, Faieto, Fonte Palumbo, Lame, Macchiatornella, Padula, Pagliaroli, Pezzelle, piano Fiumata, Servillo and Vernesca.

Borders the following municipalities: Amatrice, Crognaleto, Montorio al Vomano, Rocca Santa Maria, Teramo and Torricella Sicura.

Specialty

In the surroundings of the village vines of Montepulciano are grown for the DOC wine Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
