Cory Conacher

Cory Conacher ( born December 14, 1989 in Burlington, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player in the position of left winger who stands since March 2014 at the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League contract. He is a distant relative of Lionel Conacher, Charlie Conacher and Roy Conacher.

Career

Conacher played initially until 2007 for the Burlington Cougars from his birthplace in the Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League. He reached 62 points scorer in 48 games in the season 2006/ 07. In the summer of 2007, he finally went to the U.S. Canisius College in Buffalo, where it is parallel to the ice hockey team of the colleges in the Atlantic Hockey, one of the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division, ran aground. During his four years, the striker completed 129 games for the College and thereby reached 147 points scorer. In the season 2010/11 he was appointed after 53 points in 33 games for player of the year in the division. Overall Conacher put on twelve college records, but was drafted in this time of no franchise from the National Hockey League, although the Anaheim Ducks scouteten it regularly.

Conacher was Ungedraftet after finishing his college career from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League on a sample contract end of March 2011 obliged. After just two appearances in which he scored a goal, the paths of the two parties, however, parted again. Conacher hired then get back to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL at that took him to seven points from three games - awarded to the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL - including a four- point play in the first quarter and a hat-trick in the second game. In Milwaukee, the winger finished the season; six points he reached it in twelve encounters. In July 2011, the Norfolk Admirals Conacher took under contract. Conacher even finished the season as the second best scorer of all players behind Chris Bourque, the top scorer among all the games and the best scorer among all rookies. In addition to nominations for the Second All- Star team and All- Rookie team, he was awarded the Les Cunningham Award as the most valuable player, Willie Marshall Award for the best scorer and Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as the best league newcomer. In the play-offs, the striker also reached in June 2012 with the Admirals the final series for the Calder Cup, the team against the Toronto Marlies won sovereign. Already on 1 March 2012, he had been endowed by the Tampa Bay Lightning for the next two years until the summer of 2014 with a contract for the NHL and AHL.

Conacher was transferred one hour before the trade deadline on April 3, 2013 at the Ottawa Senators. There he played until March 2014 before he was hired on the waiver list of the Buffalo Sabres.
