Cory Larose

Cory Larose ( born May 14, 1975 in Campbellton, New Brunswick ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played for the Vienna Capitals of the Austrian Hockey League for the position of the center.

Career

Larose started his hockey career in 1993 at the age of 18 years at the Kimball Union Academy in Meriden in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The following year, the Canadians joined the British Columbia Hockey League to the Langley Thunder, for whom he played for two years before he returned in the summer of 1996 in the United States since he began his studies at the University of Maine. There he played at the same time for the university team in Hockey East, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Overall, he ran four seasons - until the end of the 1999/2000 season - for the team to where it always was one of the best scorers. In addition to numerous individual awards he won with the team in 1999, the U.S. Collegiate Championship Division I and in the following year, the champion of the Hockey East.

Following the college game 1999/2000 season, the striker signed in May 2000 as ungedrafteter FreeAgent a two-way contract with the newly formed Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League and moved thus to the 2000/01 season to the professional. However, this place it exclusively in their farm teams in the East Coast Hockey League and International Hockey League. The following two seasons spent the Canadians in the Minor Leagues, where he ran aground for the Houston Aeros in the American Hockey League and All- Rookie Team was selected at the end of the season in the AHL. After almost three years in the organization of the wild without insert in the NHL Larose was issued in February 2003 in exchange for Jay Henderson to the New York Rangers. There he was employed for the rest of the game in 2002 /03 in the farm team, the Hartford Wolf Pack, but came after he had spent too much of the following season in Hartford, his NHL debut for the Rangers. In seven games he thereby succeeded one assist since his contract expired in the summer of 2004, Larose left the Rangers and signed as a free agent with the Atlanta Thrashers on. As in Minnesota and New York, the Center was able to establish a regular place in the NHL squad and found himself again in the American Hockey League, this time with the Chicago Wolves, again.

After only one year with the Wolves, where he graduated as the second best scorer of the team, to Larose decided a move to Europe. He signed a contract with the Swiss National A- division SCL Tigers, where he remained true to the entire 2005/06 season, but despite his 31 points scorer last place in the main round could not prevent. In the subsequent playdowns he was involved with seven points in six games instrumental in the relegation of the team from Langnau. Although the team remained in the top division, Larose returned to 2006/ 07 in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves back. He graduated from the best game of his career with 83 points in only 63 encounters and presented jointly with Darren Haydar, Brett Sterling and Jason Krog the most dangerous offensive of the entire league. Overall Larose finished fifth in the AHL scorer rating, but could just as his teammates not preclude withdrawal in the semifinals of the playoffs.

Despite his final breakthrough in the North American minor leagues, the striker left the team from Chicago again after just one season and signed for the 2007/08 season the second time a contract in Europe. His first stop was the Russian Super league team Ak Bars Kazan, which he, however, after only four games turned his back and moved to the Swedish Elitserien to Luleå HF. There he spent the rest of the football year, but missed the team's playoff qualification. In summer 2008, the second European commitment Laroses ended when he on 15 July 2008 a two-way contract with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL accepted. After the season preparatory training camp sent him this to their AHL farm team, the Worcester Sharks. There, spent the entire season, but found there never really cope. In the playoffs, the attacker was set even the whistle from the coaching staff.

For the 2009/10 season Larose moved to SC Langenthal in the Swiss National League B. As of September 2010, he stood at the Vienna Capitals of the Austrian Hockey League contract.
