Cosmonautics Day

The day of the cosmonauts ( Russian Version День Космонавтики ) is the 12th of April.

The Day of the Cosmonauts is a day of remembrance of the first manned flight into space by Yuri Gagarin on April 12, 1961 with the spaceship Vostok 1 The day was both in the Soviet Union and still committed in Russia.

On 7 April 2011, the UN General Assembly declared April 12 as the International Day of manned spaceflight.
