Cosmote

Cosmote S. A. Founded in 1997 as a joint venture between OTE and Telenor, and went in 1998 as operator of the third GSM mobile network in Greece to the grid.

Telenor has repeatedly issued shares in Cosmote since 2003. Since April 2008, OTE has by a squeeze-out the remaining 1.5 % shares now 100 % of the shares, which are now in front of Vodafone has the most mobile customers in Greece.

In Macedonia Cosmote acquired the second mobile license and set up the GSM network Cosmofon. This has been sold in March 2009 due to the entry of Deutsche Telekom in OTE to the Slovenian Telekom, as T -Mobile already operates a network and the market leader is .. 2003 Cosmote has acquired 85 % stake in the Albanian network operator AMC, which as a of the most profitable companies in the industry is considered.
