Cossignano

Cossignano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1006 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Ascoli Piceno in the Marche. The community is located about 16.5 kilometers northeast of Ascoli Piceno. The southern boundary of the municipality is the Tesino.

History

At the site of the present Cossignano existed in antiquity a settlement Piceno. 268 BC it was conquered by the Romans. It was dubbed fundus Cossinianus.
