Costa Rica is a small town in the east of the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, 40 km from the entrance of the Emas National Park in Goiás.

The village lies at an altitude of 641 m. It was founded on 12 May 1980 as a separate municipality. Originally, it was the seat of an estate, the ranch Imbirussu. The area is huge with 5741 km ². The population is 16,318 ( 2005 estimate ), the HDI 0.798. The Mayor (2009-2012) is Jesus Queiroz Baird ( PMDB ).

The Munizip bordered to the north of Mato Grosso, on the east by Chapadão do Céu in Goiás, to the southeast by Chapadão do Sul, in the south of Agua Clara, on the southwest by Camapuã and to the northwest by Alcinópolis.
