Costume party

A costume ball, also masked ball or costume party is an event that often takes place at Carnival and Carnival, but especially during Carnival. Especially popular are costume parties in the United States, where adults and young people who are too old to beg for candy, costumes celebrating Halloween.

These balls are celebrated in different ways. Common to all is that guests appear costumes:

• Guests dress up to undetected to make new acquaintances.
• A celebration with entertainment music on which the costumed guests are assessed by a jury, which is often a distinction here between groups and Einzelkostümierungen.
• At Halloween parties, it 's mainly about wearing a scary possible disguise.
• A dance in the carnival ball, where only women are admitted with facial mask ( not a full costume ). Men go to dinner jacket, tuxedo or uniform. Especially such events are referred to as masked ball. In Austria they are called Redoute [ redut ]. The Rudolfina Redoute, the largest Couleur ball of Austria, has been held since 1912.
• A Gschnas is in Austria mostly a costume ball without elegant evening wear, as opposed to the ball or to the redoubt.

Some events also unmasked guests are allowed. But you often pay a higher ticket price.
