Coswig (Verwaltungsgemeinschaft)

In the administration of Community Coswig (Anhalt) of the district of Wittenberg, Saxony -Anhalt, the city Coswig (Anhalt) and the community Thießen were united to perform their administrative business.

With effect from 1 September 2010, the municipality Thießen in the city Coswig (Anhalt) was incorporated. The administrative community Coswig (Anhalt) went out with it.

Covering an area of ​​295.73 km ² lived 13,875 inhabitants (December 31, 2007 still included Griebo ). The administration was established on the market 1 in 06869 Coswig (Anhalt).

Among the original ten municipalities ( Buko, Cobbelsdorf, Coswig (Anhalt), Duben, Griebo, Klieken, Köselitz, Möllensdorf, Senst and Wörpen ) came on 1 January 2005 the municipalities Bräsen, Hundeluft, Jeber Mountain Peace, Ragösen, Serno, Stackelitz and Thiessen added from the disbanded governing community Rosseltal.

On 1 July 2007, the administrative community Coswig (Anhalt) was incorporated in the district of Wittenberg as a result of the district reform of the former district of Anhalt -Zerbst. On 1 January 2008 Wörpen was incorporated into Coswig (Anhalt) and Griebo to Wittenberg. Since 1 January 2009, the formerly independent communities Buko, Cobbelsdorf, Köselitz, Senst and Serno are districts of the city Coswig (Anhalt), on March 1, 2009, the incorporation of Duben and Klieken. This was followed on 1 July 2009 Hundeluft, Jeber Mountain Peace, Möllensdorf and Ragösen and on 1 January 2010 Bräsen and Stackelitz. The area of the administrative community extends from the border to Brandenburg in Senst and Stackelitz in the southern part of the High Flämings the valley of the upper Nuthe and Rossel down to the river Elbe.
