Cotswold District
Cotswold is a District in the county of Gloucestershire in England, which is named after the Cotswolds. Council is based in Cirencester; Another important place is South Cerney. The area is very rural and mostly includes small villages and hamlets.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974 and evolved from the merger of the Urban District Cirencester and the Rural Districts Cirencester, North Cotswold, Northleach and Tetbury.
Cotswold is a major distribution area of the megalithic tomb of the Cotswold -Severn type.
