Coulaines

Coulaines is a commune with 7558 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) three kilometers north of Le Mans. It belongs to the department of Sarthe in the Pays de la Loire and is located 200 km south-west of Paris.

In 843 the Treaty of here Coulaines was closed the Bald and the nobility and clergy of the West Frankish realm between King Charles.

Since 1972 Coulaines is twinned with Weyhe in Lower Saxony. Another community partnership maintains Coulaines with Kouré in Niger.
