Council of Agde

The Synod of Agde was convened by Caesarius of Arles to Agde. It took place on 10 September 506. Southwest France and Provence were at that time part of the kingdom of the Visigoths under Alaric II, who adhered to Arianism. The Synod served the purpose to unite the Catholic dioceses of the area.
