Count Friedrich August von Harrach-Rohrau

Count Friedrich August von Harrach Gervase Protasius to Rohrau and Thannhausen (* June 18, 1696 in Vienna, † June 4, 1749 ibid ) was Czech ambassador at the Perpetual Imperial Diet at Regensburg. He was the son of Aloys Thomas Count of Harrach Raymund and his second wife Anna Cecilia of Thannhausen.

From 1741 to 1744 he was governor of the Austrian- Netherlands. 1744 to 1745 he was District Marshal of Lower Austria. He was a knight of the Order of the Golden Fleece ( Nr.722 ).

The small village of Thal Friedrich in the Giant Mountains ( near Spindleruv Mlyn ) is named after him.

Progeny

On February 5, 1719 he married Maria Eleonore Caroline of Liechtenstein (* 1703, † ca July 18, 1757 ), daughter of Anton Florian of Liechtenstein. The following children sprang from the marriage:
