Counterparty
A counterparty (from Latin con - trahere: pull together, join, cause ) is first of all a person who is about to enter into an agreement (contract ). This original meaning is now largely restricted to the legal and the stock market parlance.
In a narrower sense, the Arrange to meet a duel was called contract in the language students. From this, the second meaning of the counterparty has to developed by the contractor " opponents in battle or dispute"; to this reinterpretation, the sonic proximity has contributed to contra (Latin for " against ").
Counterparty, also referred to enemies within a feud in the Middle Ages.
