Countess Palatine Hedwig Elisabeth of Neuburg

Hedwig Elisabeth Amalia von Pfalz -Neuburg ( born July 18, 1673 Dusseldorf, † August 11 1722 in Ohlau ), was a princess and Countess Palatine of Neuburg and by marriage Princess of Poland.

Life

Hedwig Elisabeth was a daughter of the Elector Philipp Wilhelm of the Palatinate (1615-1690) from his second marriage with Elisabeth Amalie (1635-1709), daughter of the Landgrave George II of Hesse -Darmstadt.

Hedwig Elisabeth married on February 25, 1691 in Warsaw, the Polish Crown Prince James Louis Henry Sobieski ( 1667-1737 ), the son of King John III. For the bride's trousseau, the neuburgischen estates had contributed. Hedwig Elisabeth's eldest sister Eleonore Magdalene was since 1676 the wife of the Holy Roman Emperor Leopold I..
