The County Ground is a football stadium in the English town of Swindon. It can accommodate 15,728 spectators and serves the club Swindon Town as homestead.

The County Ground in Swindon, a town in the county of Wiltshire in southwest England, situated between London and Bristol, was built in 1896. Since then, the football club Swindon Town uses the stadium as the venue for home games. The club, which is currently in the Football League One, the English third division, plays, had its most successful period in the early nineties, as you a few years was active in the first two leagues of the English professional football and even played a season in the Premier League, there but as table directly descended again. Even today occupied Swindon Town last place in the Eternal table of the Premier League.

The capacity of the County Ground in Swindon is 15,728 spectator seats today. The record attendance at the stadium dated January 15, 1972, when the Arsenal to an FA Cup match guested here and 32,000 spectators came to the stadium.

For the future, Swindon Town plans to move into a new stadium, as the County Ground is very old and no longer meets the safety regulations. This new stadium will accommodate 25,000 spectators and consist solely of seats. The opening of the new stadium is planned for the beginning of the season 2012/13. It should also serve as a training ground for the Bristol City Stadium, where England's application is successful for hosting the football World Cup in 2018.
