County of Cerdanya

The county of Cerdanya, in the Catalan language Comtat de Cerdanya, was one of the Catalan counties that emerged from the Spanish Mark of Charlemagne. Between the years 789 and 870 it was ruled by the Counts of Urgell. Later, she was in possession of a younger branch of the family of Count of Barcelona that Besalu, Conflent and Hill dominated the counties.

After the death of Count Bernhard's heritage without whose possessions are Ramon Berenguer III. succeeded by Barcelona.

Cerdanya is united with the Crown of Aragon. 1276 bequeathed to King James I of Aragon, his younger son, the King of Majorca the county.
