Court of Cassation (Belgium)

The Court of Cassation (Dutch: Court of Cassation, French: Cour de cassation ) is the highest court of law of Belgium. As a model originally served the French Cour de Cassation. Its responsibilities are similar to its French counterpart.

Organization

The court consists of three chambers with 16 judges. Each chamber has a Dutch-speaking and French-speaking department. Each chamber has a president (President) and each department an umpire. At the top of the general court is a first president.

Jurisdiction
