Courtney Lee

Courtney Lee ( born October 3, 1985 in Indianapolis, Indiana ) is an American professional basketball player who is currently with the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA under contract.

Career

College

In 2004, Lee was the former head coach of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Darrin Horn, recruited to play for them. In his first season there, he set up the points record in college, when he scored 461 points in 31 games. He stood between the 2005/06 season and the 2007/ 08 three times in a row in the All- Sun Belt Conference First Team. 2007/ 08 he was also appointed as the Sun Belt Player off the Year. On 27 January 2008, he scored his college record again with 33 points. When Lee moved to the NBA, he held jointly with Jim McDaniels the record for the most points at Western Kentucky College with 2,238 points.

NBA

Orlando Magic

2008 Lee was drafted at # 22 out of the Orlando Magic, where he could reach there a points average of 8.4 points per game in his first and last season. This season he played 77 games, of which he started 42 as a player in the starting five. Also during the play-offs, where the Magic reached the finals series, he got most of the games in the starting lineup.

New Jersey Nets

After his only season in Orlando Lee moved as part of a player exchange with Rafer Alston and Tony Battie against Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson to the New Jersey Nets, where he was able to record his most successful season by reaching career highs in the fields of minutes per game, points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, and in other areas. On 8 March 2010, he put on a Career High 30 points in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Houston Rockets

On 10th Augst he was part of a trade, which included a total of four teams and five players. Lee was player of the Houston Rockets, who sent in return Trevor Ariza to the New Orleans Hornets. In his first season there worsened his statistics, but also it was that he got 12 minutes less playing time. In his second season his stats went up again, the Rockets missed but just ninth in the Western Conference the playoffs

Boston Celtics

From 2012 to 2014 he played with the Boston Celtics.

Memphis Grizzlies

On January 7, 2014 it was announced that Lee would go to the next season to the Memphis Grizzlies.
