Covina is a city in Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California, United States, with 48,400 inhabitants ( 2004). The metropolitan area has a size of 18.1 km ². The city was founded in 1882 by Joseph Swift Phillips. 1909 Covina was the third largest orange producer in the world. From 1942 to 1951, this was the headquarters of the Theosophical Society in America, at that time called the " Theosophical Society Covina ."

Covina is also the birthplace of Edward Frederick Anderson, a botanist who had specialized in the cactus.
