The Kammzähnerhaie ( Hexanchidae ) are a family of sharks from the order of Hexanchiformes; Alternatively, the name gray sharks is not unique, because it is also used for the requiem sharks.
Physique
You have six ( Hexanchus ) or seven ( Heptranchias and Notorynchus ) gill slits, which is considered a primordial feature. Your mouth is inferior, the teeth of the upper and lower jaw are serrated, the lower incisors are much larger. You only have one well to the rear seated dorsal fin
Dissemination
The sharks live in temperate to tropical areas of the world of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Ocean, on the continental slopes and the coasts of islands also at greater depths.
Food way
Kammzähnerhaie eat very large prey, like other sharks, rays, large bony fishes and crustaceans. The young hatch still in the mother's body or shortly after oviposition ( Ovoviviparie ).
