Craig Berkey
Craig Berkey ( born June 18, 1962 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada ) is a Canadian engineer and sound engineer. Since 1990 he has worked on over 180 films and was nominated three times for an Oscar.
Life
Berkley graduated from high school and had a job for a while as a classical guitar teacher and played in a rock band. He then worked for the Canadian telephone company BC Phone this job, he finally gave up to study at Columbia Academy Broadcasting School Sound Design. During his studies he taught there. His debut as a sound engineer, he had an episode of the television series Mom PI. Since that time he has participated in more than 150 films. For his work on the films True Grit and No Country for Old Men, he was a total of three times nominated for an Oscar. He won for these films ever a C.A.S. Award from the Cinema Audio Society Awards. For his work on the animated series Spawn, he twice won the Golden Reel Award from the Motion Picture Sound Editors. One of his biggest projects was the drama film The Tree of Life, on which he worked for two years.
