Craig Davies (footballer)
Craig Martin Davies ( born January 9, 1986 in Burton -upon -Trent ) is a Welsh footballer. The striker has been active at a young age for several associations - including 2006 was a short-term commitment to the Italian club Hellas Verona - and stands at Bolton Wanderers since January 2013 under contract.
Sports career
As a youth player Davies was in the junior sections of Shrewsbury Town and later Manchester City, where he eluded the leap into the professional team of the "Citizens". Instead, the young attacker sought in August 2004, his luck at fourth division Oxford United and were there on 30 August 2004 in a 1-0 away win against Notts County made its debut. He scored six league goals in 29 games of the season 2004/ 05 and was in June 2005, shortly before a change in the Premier League Charlton Athletic. Instead of a transfer in the top English league but came half a year later managed a leap to Italy, when Davies went for a transfer fee in the amount of 85,000 pounds to the local second division side Hellas Verona. However, in the Veneto, he was not happy - he stated in the aftermath that the exchange of cultures for him at a young age had arrived yet clearly too early - and after just one use in Serie B, the English second division side Wolverhampton Wanderers lent him in August 2006 for an entire season off.
The " Wolves " although he was often represented in the first half of the 2006/07 season as a reserve player on the team, but remained with the exception of two matches against Oldham Athletic scoreless in the FA Cup. As with Andy Keogh, a new striker was committed in January 2007, Davies remained almost without further match practice and moved in June 2007 to the third division side Oldham Athletic, against whom he had previously denied his best two season games for Wolverhampton. In Oldham, he immediately became a crowd favorite when he already succeeded in his debut against Swansea City in the last minute of the 2-1 victory and with its ten league goals in the 2007/ 08 season he was the top scorer of his club. However, at the beginning of the following season 2008 /09 Davies showed weakly positive in the first ten competitive games and scoreless, after which he was loaned out to rivals Stockport County in November 2008. There, he scored six goals in 13 missions, go alone three of them to him 20 December 2008 in a 3-1 win against Bristol Rovers.
Shortly after his return to Oldham and four scoreless games hired Davies on 2 February 2009 at Brighton & Hove Albion - another club in the Football League One - on, signed a contract for 3 ½ years and also met here in his debut against Peterborough United, although the match with 2:4 was lost and the gate that last for his new club in the season 2008 /09 remained. On September 25, 2009 for a targeted period of one month at Yeovil Town on loan him out of the " Seagulls ", as Davies had fallen in the pecking order in attack for the time being behind the well harmonizing Nicky Forster and Liam Dickinson. In the new year he found the next Leihklub Port Vale until the end of the 2009 /10 with seven league matches his long lost believed marksmanship again and took before the start of season 2010/ 11 with the signing of a year's contract at fourth division club FC Chesterfield a new sporty start.
Welsh national team
After he had already played for several Welsh junior teams, the players who are eligible by his grandparents for Wales Davies came on 17 August 2005 against Slovenia to his first match for the national team. After a sending-off during a game of Welsh U- 21 team against Israel (2:3) his international career was temporarily stalled as against him a five- duty match ban has been issued, which effectively put him 18 months out of action.
