Craig Goldy

Craig Goldy ( born November 6, 1961 La Mesa ( CA ), California, United States) was a guitarist in the bands Vengeance, Rough Cutt, Giuffria and a project called Driver before he went into the heavy metal band Dio, the solo band of world-renowned exceptional singer Ronnie James Dio.

As Dios first guitarist Vivian Campbell left the band in 1986, Goldy mid-March 1986 was invited to sessions and unceremoniously committed, the band but recurred shortly after the back and brought, with only moderate success, some solo albums out.

In 2000, he joined Dio for the second time, the album Magica resulted from the brief collaboration with Dio. This time it was familiar liabilities, which forced him to withdraw from the band. He was replaced in February 2002 by Doug Aldrich. In spring 2003, Goldy has been a renewed comeback at Dio, where he was a guitarist until they disbanded in 2010, after the death of Ronnie James Dio. Since 2008 he is also guest guitarist for the Welsh hard rock band Budgie. Since 2011 he is with the Dio Disciples.

Goldys guitar playing was partly inspired by the music of Ritchie Blackmore.
