Craig Sinclair Gordon ( born December 31, 1982 in Edinburgh ) is a former Scottish footballer. Most recently, he played for Sunderland AFC on the position of the goalkeeper.

Craig Gordon began his career in the youth department of the Scottish club Heart of Midlothian. He went through all the youth team until he signed a professional contract in October 1999. His debut celebrated then at age 19 in October 2002 at the League game against FC Livingston. From then on, it was not long and he had the previous regular keeper Tepi Moilanen displaced out of the box of Hearts and was later even team captain. Overall denied Gordon, who himself is a big fan of Hearts, 139 league games for the club from Edinburgh. In the 2001 / 02 season, Gordon was awarded from October to December to the then fourth division FC Cowdenbeath. In August 2007, he spent £ 9 million for English Premier League club Sunderland AFC. He became the most expensive British goalkeeper of all time.
