Craig Strete

Craig Kee Strete (* 1950 in Fort Wayne, Indiana ) is an Indian writer.

Strete belongs to the tribe of the Cherokee.

Age of fifteen, he encounters the frontman of the musical group The Doors, the rock star Jim Morrison. Inspired by this encounter, he wrote the book "We burned up the night ." A novel with Jim Morrison "in which he describes a chaotic, wild ride with Morrison by the Los Angeles mid-60s of the last century, is purely fictitious. This work earned him a certain notoriety. the book was recently part of the " March cassette", a kind of reminiscence of the Area- publishing in March -Verlag Jörg Schröder.

In 1975, he was also responsible for " The Bleeding Man" for a Nebula Award for Best Novelette in 1980 for a Nebula Award in the category " Best Short Story " for the text " A Sunday Visit with Great - Grandfather " nominated.

Strete used by its own account as a writer pseudonyms, to maintain its secrecy he is always ready. In 1987, the publishing house Doubleday by a bug known that published under the pseudonym Sovereign Falconer book " To Make Death Love Us " also from Strete.

Strete has a university degree as a Master of Fine Arts ( MFA) from the University of California at Irvine and is currently working as assistant professor of English at East Stroudsburg University ( ESU) in Pennsylvania.

Only a fraction of Stretes works was translated into German. He became known in the German-speaking countries in particular for his novel about Jim Morrison, who is a best-seller even after more than a decade, while his other works were largely ignored.
