Cravanzana

Cravanzana ( in Piedmontese Cravansan -a) is a municipality with 419 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Cuneo (CN ), Region Piedmont.

Geography

Cravanzana is situated on a high ridge in the Alta Langa between the valleys of BORMIDA and Belbo. It is located 67 km northeast of the provincial capital Cuneo and 61 km southeast of Turin.

The neighboring municipalities are Arguello, Bosia, Cerreto Langhe, Feisoglio, Lequio Berria and Torre Bormida.

Marco Robaldo was elected on 13 June 2004 to the mayor.

Attractions

The palace of the Marchesi Fontana dates from the 17th - 18th century and was built on the foundations of a medieval castle. It is not open to visitors.

Regular events

On the last Monday in September, the hazelnut fair takes place.

Specialities

In Cravanzana wine production. The berries of the grape varieties Pinot Noir and / or Chardonnay may be processed for sparkling wine Alta Langa. In Cravanzana also bamboo is grown.
