Creative nonfiction

A documentary novel (also docu- novel) is a socially critical and political work, which draws on historical documents and scientific facts. These are processed or quoted in part or in full or brought close to the actual events. Therefore, can be found in documentary novels often techniques of montage and collage.

Examples include Joachim Gaertner I'm full of hate - and I love that, a documentary novel of the original documents on the attack at Columbine High School, or multiple works by FC Delius.
