The Creighton University is a private, Roman Catholic university based in Omaha, Nebraska. It was founded in 1878 by Jesuits and is one of 28 members of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The University is the largest private religious university of Nebraska.

History

The University was founded on September 2, 1878 as Creighton College. She was a gift from Mary Lucretia Creighton, in memory of her husband, the well-known businessman Edward Creighton, founded the College. Creighton Bluejays

The Creighton Bluejays are the sports team of Creighton University, which are organized in the Big East Conference of NCAA Division I since 2013. In eight of 14 teams sports entertained.
