Creil

Creil is a commune with 33 741 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Oise in the Picardie region; it belongs to the district of Senlis and is the administrative seat of two cantons: Creil Nogent -sur -Oise and Creil -Sud. Creil belongs to the Communauté de communes de l' agglomà creilloise. The town lies on the river Oise. In the 16th century a castle was built on an island in the Oise.
