Cressida Granger

Cressida Granger ( born July 17, 1963) is a British entrepreneur. She is owner and managing director of the lighting company Mathmos, which was founded by the inventor of the lava lamp, Edward Craven Walker.

Career

Cressida Granger took over the company Mathmos in 1989 and boosted the sales of lava lamps within ten years from almost 0 to 18 million pounds. As one of several managers, she has achieved through increase in sales and marketing activities of two Queens Awards for Export and various other Business Awards.

After she had in 1998 her partner David Mulley bought all the shares in the company, she founded the Mathmos Design Studio. Under her leadership, the team won in collaboration with external designers for their new lighting products various prizes.

Granger holds a degree in art history at the University of Manchester (BA ) and worked as a trader for design objects from the 1960s and early 1970s.

Creative commercial activities

Cressida Granger was with James Dyson and Terrance Conran in 2003, a member of the Committee on Government Innovation. She was in numerous design competitions such as 100 % Light, D & AD awards or design jury member nation. It is sometimes also a lecturer for management in design firms at the College of Design in Ravens Bourge.
