Crhov

Crhov ( German Cerhow, formerly Czerhow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located two kilometers south-east of Olešnice and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Crhov is located in the mountains of the upper Svratka, a part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, brook in the valley of the brook Crhovský. The village is situated on the eastern edge of the Natural Park Svratecká hornatina. North-east rises the Kamperk (Comb Mountain, 640 m), in the east of Kocholík ( 651 m ) south of the Hradisko ( 642 m) in the southwest of Vrchy ( 638 m) and northwest of the Srstkův Kopec (611 m).

Neighboring towns are Veselka in the north, and Ustup Rozsíčka in the northeast, Sulíkov in the east, and Rozseč Petrov nad Kunštátem the southeast, Louka in the south, Loucký Dvůr and Prosetín the southwest, Křtěnov in the west and Olešnice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1353 as a possession of the Vladiken Drnovice. 1487 was a stronghold in Crhov. William II of Pernštejna united Crhov 1496 with the goods of the castle Louka and beat them to the reign Pernštejna. At the end of the 16th century the village was sold during the sell-out of Pernštejna rule in the rule Kunštát. In 1790, 235 people lived in the village. In the 19th century took place at Crhov Mining of graphite.

After the abolition of patrimonial Crhov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district team Boskovice. 1868, the school was opened, previously was the teaching of Olešnice. The volunteer fire department was established in 1882. Two years later, opened a community library at the school. 1900, the village had 321 inhabitants, in 1910 there were 311 in 1936, the district road from Olešnice was built after Rozseč nad Kunštátem, took place in 1948, the regulation of Crhovský creek. In 1960, the population had dropped to 242. With the beginning of 1961 the church was assigned to the Okres Blansko. In 1980 Crhov consisted of 49 permanent houses used for residential purposes and had 190 inhabitants. Between 1989 and 1993 Crhov was a district of Olešnice. Since 1994, the community is Crhov again. On the evening of 15 July 2002, the Crhovský swollen creek after a strong storm in a torrential stream. Crhov was next Štěpánov nad Svratkou, Olešnice and Hodonín of the four most damaged villages in the 2002 floods in the catchment area of the Hodonínka.
