Cricklade
Cricklade is a town with 4,100 inhabitants ( 2001) between Swindon and Cirencester in Wiltshire in England.
History
The place is an Anglo-Saxon settlement from the 9th century. Cricklade was of strategic importance because a Roman road crossed the Thames here. In the time of Knut the Great was in the place a coin.
