Crinitz

Crinitz ( Lower Sorbian: Krynica ) is a town in the Elbe-Elster district in southern Brandenburg and part of the Office of Small Magpie ( Lower) with seat in the municipality mass Lower Lusatia.

Geography

Crinitz located in a terminal moraine at the edge of the Lusatian border wall.

Community structure

The main statute of the community has only the district Gahro. The municipality also includes the residential places Gahroer Pechhütte, Niederhofstraße and Oberhof.

History

The church in its present borders was only on 26 October 2003 through the legally prescribed inclusion of the community in the community Gahro Crinitz. Both communities are managed since 1992 by the Office Small Magpie ( Lower) (until 1995 Office Small Magpie ).

District Gahro

The village has about 200 inhabitants Gahro today. The first documentary mention as Garow dates from 1452. The name is of Slavic origin and may mean conflagration. 1538 the village was mentioned as Garo. Worth seeing is the stone church from the 12th/13th. Century.

Structures

In the list of monuments in Crinitz are registered in the list of monuments of the country Brandenburg monuments.

Museums

The first home office was located until 2011 in the passage at the restaurant " Mansion " to the potters' market area. The new home office is in the main road in November 2011. Opened 82 and is clearly visible to the oversized, glazed clay pot in front of the house. The eight resident potteries are willing to show off their partly historical workshops on request. Advance registration is advisable.

Regular events

The Great Pottery Market is always held on the first weekend of April. Approximately seventy potters and other craftsmen from all over Germany - and since 2006 also from other European countries - present their goods here.
