Cristian Malmagro

Cristian Malmagro Viaña ( born March 11, 1983 in Granollers, Spain ) is a Spanish handball player. He is 1.91 m tall and weighs 87 kg.

Malmagro, who last played for French club Montpellier AHB and accrued for the Spanish national team, is mostly used as back center of the room.

Cristian Malmagro began in his hometown with the handball game. For the local first division BM Granollers made ​​his debut in the Spanish league ASOBAL, but did not win any titles. In 2007 he was obliged by top club SDC San Antonio to relieve Renato Vugrinec San Antonio until then the sole player in the right back. Due to his good performances he was voted the best half right back player of the season. In 2010, Malmagro joined the Danish club AG København, with whom he won the championship in 2011 and 2012. In summer 2012, he moved to Montpellier AHB. With Montpellier in 2013, he won the French Cup. Then he left Montpellier.

Cristian Malmagro has denied to January 2014 50 internationals for the Spanish national team and scored 166 goals in the process. At the 2008 European Championships in Norway he belonged only to the extended line-up of his country. In the 2008 Olympics he won the bronze medal. He is in the squad for the World Cup in Spain 2011.
