Cristiano Doni

Cristiano Doni ( born April 1, 1973 in Rome) is an Italian football player.

Life

Doni played in youth at FC Modena. In the 1991/92 season he came into the senior squad, but was not used. Therefore he moved to Rimini Calcio, playing in Serie C2. After one season, he moved to AC Pistoiese in the series C. Again, he was able to convince, and again only after one season he left the club to go to the higher-class FC Bologna. In 1996 he moved to league rivals Brescia Calcio, with which he rose to the Serie A in 1997. After re- direct descent Doni joined Atalanta Bergamo. Here he played until 2003, before it was clear again, the transition into the second division. He then went to Sampdoria, who had managed to climb to the top flight. 2005 transferred to RCD Mallorca Doni abroad, but returned after a season in Italy and was from 2006 at Atalanta Bergamo under contract.

Doni from 2001 was briefly the Italian national team. He played seven matches and scored one goal. He was part of the squad at the 2002 World Cup, but was used after the tournament only twice.

On August 9, 2011 Doni has been banned in the wake of the manipulation scandal for three and a half years.
