Cristiano Júnior

Cristiano Silva de Lima Junior ( born June 5, 1979 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, † December 5, 2004 in Bangalore, India) was Brazilian professional footballer.

Lima broke on 5 December 2004 including during the final at the Indian Federations Cup against Mohun Bagan AC, after he had scored the 2-0 seconds for his club and was going collided with the opposing goalkeeper Subrata Pal. Lima played for Dempo Sports Club. Resuscitation attempts on the court and in the Hosmat Hospital in Bangalore were unsuccessful. The reason for the collapse was probably an undetected heart defect.

Lima had come from Brazil to India in 2003. In the 2003/2004 season he played for East Bengal Club in Kolkata and then moved to Goa. In Brazil, he previously played in Rio de Janeiro, among others, for the clubs CR Vasco da Gama and Sampaio Corrêa Futebol e Esporte.
