Cristiano Zanetti

Cristiano Zanetti ( born April 14, 1977 in Carrara ( MS), Italy) is an Italian football player. He is currently without a club.

Career

In the club

Cristiano Zanetti began at the age of five years with the football games. In his youth he played like his idol Diego Maradona, solely on the position of the number 10 with the beginning of his professional career in 1993 at Fiorentina Zanetti moved into central midfield. His Serie A debut, he celebrated on 14 May 1995 in a 2-1 away win at Fiorentina Calcio Foggia. In 1996 he moved to Venice and had AC in the following years, initially through provincial clubs such as AC Reggiana and Cagliari Calcio work up in Serie A. In summer 1999, Cristiano Zanetti moved to AS Roma. There he was a regular player of the team under Fabio Capello won the Italian championship in 2001.

For the 2001/02 season Zanetti went to Inter Milan, where he regularly came into use until 2006.

In summer 2006, Cristiano Zanetti moved free transfer to the record champions Juventus. Despite the forced descent of Juve to Serie B due to the involvement in the match-fixing scandal, he decided to remain with the club and playing in the second division. There he was in season 2006/ 07 performer of the team that managed the direct return to the top division of Italy under coach Didier Deschamps.

During the 2007/08 season Zanetti could, despite the commitment of top-class midfielder like Tiago and Sergio Almirón, securing its place under new coach Claudio Ranieri and became the pivotal point in the game design of the old lady. 2008/ 09 Zanetti came because of frequent injuries only twelve league operations.

In August 2009 Cristinao Zanetti joined at the age of 32 years to his youth club Fiorentina, where he received a two-year contract with an option for another season. Fiorentina have paid a transfer fee of two million euros.

In January 2011, the midfielder moved to the league rivals Brescia Calcio. After only one year, he left the club.

In the National Team

After he had played a total of 20 youth caps for Italy, Cristiano Zanetti debuted on 7 November 2001 under coach Giovanni Trapattoni in a 1-1 draw in Japan in the Italian national team. In the following years he took the Azzurri to the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, and the 2004 European Championships in Portugal in part. His last international match played so far Zanetti on 14 June 2004, in a 0-0 draw against Denmark, the first game of the Italians in the European Championship finals.
