Critical infrastructure

Critical Infrastructures ( CIP ) are institutions and organizations with important significance for the state community whose failure or impairment sustained shortage of supplies, significant disruptions to public order or other dramatic consequences would occur. Critical infrastructures are often linked and depend on each other, which can lead to risks and cascading effects.

The Federal Ministry of the Interior ( BMI) is divided into nine critical infrastructure sectors with relevant sectors:
