Croatian Bishops' Conference

The Croatian Bishops' Conference ( kroat.: Hrvatska Biskupska Konferencija, HBK ) is the central and permanent assembly of the Croatian bishops. The HBK is a member of the Council of European Bishops 'Conferences ( CCEE) and associate member of the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Community ( COMECE). Its headquarters, the General Secretariat is in Zagreb.

Statutes

After Pope John Paul II approved and published decree of 1993 was built on the basis of the documents of the Second Vatican Council and the Code of Canon Law (CIC ) of 1983, the structure and management of the Croatian Bishops' Conference. The statutes of HBK based on these provisions and have been adopted by the General Assembly.

Special

Although the ecclesiastical province of Srem is included parts of Croatia, the Bishop of Srem member of the International Bishops' Conference of the Saints Cyril and Methodius, based in Belgrade.

The Bishop of Kotor in Montenegro is a member of the Croatian Bishops' Conference.
