Crooked I

Crooked I ( born September 23, 1978 in Los Angeles as Dominick Wickliffe ) is an American rapper and songwriter.

Career

Earlier in his career Crooked I stood briefly at Virgin Records. He appeared on various compilations, among other things, on the soundtrack to Caught Up. He then in 1999 moved to Death Row Records, where he released mixtapes and was re listening to samplers, for example on Too Gangsta for Radio and Dysfunctional Family. His planned debut album Say Hi to the Bad Guy, however, never appeared. After four years he left the label and formed his own company, Dynasty Entertainment, an imprint of Treacherous Records, whose products were distributed by Universal. However, it did not publish a work here, because Suge Knight, owner of Death Row, sued him, because he was of the view that Crooked I still stood with him under contract. Nevertheless appeared more mixtapes, DVD's and guest appearances on other artists' pieces, such as on Ashanti's baby, which reached number 89 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 15 in the German Media Control Charts.

Followed in 2005 by his own single Boom Boom Clap, which also includes a music video was filmed.

After solving the legal problems he caused a stir when he began his series Hip Hop Weekly - in the course of this campaign he made for one year each week a song for free download on the Internet.
