Cross of Saint James

The ragwort is a fußgespitztes red lily cross. In contrast to Glevenkreuz, which has the form of heraldic lily on four arms of the cross, it is formed on three arms so, and pointed at the fourth arm of the cross, so a lily cross slot.

The cross is the religious character of the Spanish Order of Saint James of the Sword. Presumably, it was founded by King Ramiro II of Aragon ( 1134-1137 ) donated and accepted by the papal confirmation in 1175.

The coat of arms of Caracas shows a lion holding the ragwort.
