Crotopus

Krotopos ( ancient Greek Κρότωπος ) was in Greek mythology, the son of Agenor. He was named after Iasos, the brother of his father, King of Argos. He was the father of Sthenelas and Psamathe.

Psamathe was pregnant by Apollo, and gave birth to a child. Because she wanted to hide it from her father, she sat it out. The Sheepdogs herds of Krotopos found the child and killed it. Therefore Apollo sent the Poine ( an avenging spirit ), which the children tore the Argives. Coroebus, the Megarian hero, came to the rescue and killed the Poine. But after that was invading the plague Argos.

After Krotopos ' death, he was buried in Argos, nor Pausanias was shown the grave there. His son Sthenelas ascended the throne after him.
