Crotram

CROTRAM is a Croatian consortium of three companies that manufactures the first low-floor tram Croatia (model TMK 2200 ). First was the consortium of companies Končar, Gredelj and Đuro Đaković. However ĐĐ left the consortium and the production of the chassis and the hydraulic German companies SCARY Hydro- Systemtechnik GmbH & Co. KG and Henschel Antriebstechnik GmbH were entrusted.

The first shipment of 70 units for the Zagreb mass transit company Zagrebački električni tramvaj ( ZET ), which operates the tram Zagreb, lasted from May 2005 to June 2007. Satisfied with the quality of the cars delivered, the City of Zagreb and ZET signed in June 2007 an order for an additional 70 units, which were delivered by the end of 2009. The prototype of the second series was introduced in late December in Zagreb in 2007, four months before the deadline. He is to travel 2008 Zagreb streets from mid-January.

Many foreign cities, including cities in Australia, France, Poland and Serbia, have already shown their interest in buying this tram. The tram Helsinki has taken a unit for testing in the test operations. For the Croatian economy, it is particularly important that more than 70 percent of the parts come from the home country, especially the sophisticated electronics.

The tram is 32 meters long, to accommodate over 200 passengers and the maximum speed is limited to 70 km / h. In designing the TMK 2200 latest techniques and methods have been applied. For example, it is operated by synchronous computers and is fully equipped with cameras. The price is compared to its competitors such as Siemens or Bombardier significantly lower.
