Crowborough

Crowborough is a town with 19,794 inhabitants ( 2009 estimate ) in the Wealden District in the county of East Sussex, England. She is also the administrative seat of Waelden and on the population of the largest city in the interior of East Sussex.

Crowborough is located in the Weald, there is also 242m with the highest point in the city area, and on the edge of Ashdown Forest. It is 12.8 km (7 miles ) northeast is Royal Tunbridge Wells and about 56 km (35 miles) in a north-westerly direction, the capital, London.

The city is situated between the towns of Tunbridge Wells and Lewes on the A26 trunk road, passes nearby and the A21 trunk road to London.

The station lies on the line from London Bridge to Uckfield and is served by the Southern Railway Company in passenger transport. The train journey to London takes about an hour.

Famous people

The certainly most famous citizens of the city was the writer Arthur Conan Doyle, who died in 1930 on his past in the urban area estate. Also the Welsh astronomer Isaac Roberts in 1904 was initially buried here. Were born in the city of historian Kevin Brownlow ( born 1938 ) and the Astronaut Piers John Sellers ( born 1958 ), jazz musician Steve Argüelles ( b. 1963 ) and the multiple Olympic medalist in eventing Philippa Funnell ( b. 1968 ) also come from the city and the politician and journalist Tom Driberg ( 1905-1976 ).
