Crown of Eric XIV

The Erik crown ( after King Erik XIV ) is when Sweden crown a tradition crown presented with a golden tiara with jewel trim and well -designed temples. It is the most important part of the Swedish kingdom regalia.

The crown has been changed frequently and has lost as Krönungsinsignie important. At the Reichstag opening the crown is still used as an exhibition piece. The initials in the crown was the brother Johan III. after imprisonment Eriks obscured by cartridges.

When the House of Holstein -Gottorp presented the Swedish kings, the crown was not used. Only Karl XIV Johan used the crown for the coronation, to underline the claim of the House of Bernadotte.
