  • Worldwide

The Crurotarsi (also Crocodylotarsi Benton and Clark, 1988) are a group of archosaurs, including the crocodiles ( Crocodylia ) and some extinct taxa such as the Phytosauria belong.

Features

The common phylogenetic feature ( synapomorphy ) is typical for her training of the ankle, extending to between the two proximal ( " upper " ) tarsal bones Astragalus and calcaneus joint line. The Crurotarsi are the Ornithodira ( pterosaurs and dinosaurs ) against a sister group, in which the ankle joint between the proximal and distal ( " lower " ) runs tarsal bones.
