Crush, Tear, Curl

Crush, Tear, Curl (English for " crush, tear, roll" ), in short: CTC, is a process in the manufacture of black tea, which was developed for the better industrial processing of the tea plant. The leaves are broken after wilting with a spike roller before the tea is oxidized. By prior disruption of the cell walls of tea must not remain in the oxidation chamber. CTC teas develop more caffeine than conventionally produced black teas.
