CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea

Clubul Sportiv Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea (abbreviated CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea ) was a Romanian handball club from Râmnicu Vâlcea. In the 40 - year history, the women's team celebrated 19 championships, 14 Cup hits and four European titles profits.

History

The club was founded on 27 June 1973, the name AS Chimistul Râmnicu Vâlcea. In the 1981/82 season the team promotion to the league Naţională, the highest Romanian league. In the 1983/84 season the club first participated in a European competition and won both the EHF Cup. In the following seasons, which qualified the club until the 1987/88 season, always look for a European competition. 1989 won the championship for the first time Râmnicu Vâlcea and the second EHF Cup. On 1 October 1989, the club was renamed the CSM Oltchim Ramnicu Valcea. The team established himself henceforth in the Romanian top and was in the following years, almost every year win national titles. On 1 May 1997 the club was renamed for the last time. In the 2012/13 season, the club ran into financial difficulties. Exactly 40 years after the club was founded to dissolve the Association, it was announced. The League license was awarded the HC Oltenia newly established.
